Buenos Aires. A celebration of beauty in its architecture, culture and people. And a place on the map as one of the world’s most dynamic plastic surgery capitals. The city also gives us Dr Gabriel Fernando Bonesana whose passion for perfection makes him every bit the Cocoona surgeon.
With over 3 decades’ experience in Argentina and the UAE, the Buenos Aires, Madrid and Boston-trained Dr Gabriel brings a unique skill set: head and neck, maxillofacial, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.
After a medical degree in 1986 from the Buenos Aires University (UBA) in Argentina and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Madrid, Spain, Dr Gabriel went on to earn a Master in Aesthetic Medicine from the Argentine Medical Association. Certifications followed, in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and as Medical Examiner by the Health Ministry of Argentina and later, as a Specialist in Plastic Surgery by the Northeast National University School of Medicine.
Dr. Gabriel’s training includes Clinical and Surgical Observership in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the Boston University School of Medicine.
His wide and deep experience begins with residencies in General Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and goes on to a distinguished career as Plastic Surgeon at leading hospitals as well as in private practice, all in Argentina. Bringing his notable Latin American beauty sensibilities to this side of the world, Dr Gabriel has worked closely with the UAE’s discerning clientele, gaining keen insight into their expectations and aspirations.
Dr Gabriel has published widely, having authored scientific papers and books on post-mastectomy reconstruction, silicone implants, facial and eyelid rejuvenation, rich platelets in conjunction with fat graft and gynecomastia.
Along with English and Spanish, Dr Gabriel is also fluent in the language of Gen Z which comes naturally to him as doting dad to a daughter at University. On the leisure side of things, the gentle Argentine surprises with his preference for tennis and golf over football. Now that’s something to ask Dr Gabriel about when you see him at Cocoona.
