A pioneer of plastic, reconstructive, aesthetic, and laser surgery who performed the first-ever full-face resurfacing for wrinkles, and age spots on the face in Greece back in 1995.

Dr. Vakis is also known for the innovative evolution of the Laser Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) technique with the Single Suture Traction Technique (SSTT).

While his primary practice is based in Greece, he visits Cocoona, Dubai frequently to consult and operate on patients from UAE and the region.

Dr. Vakis is a name highly regarded by plastic surgeons globally and is one of the most credible plastic surgeons across the globe.

Education & Training

He started his training in plastic surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, then in Brazil, at Santa Casa De Misericordia Hospital, and completed his residency at Wexham Park Hospital, London, United Kingdom.

With decades of experience in the field of plastic surgery, Dr. Vakis holds the Chairman position in the Education Council of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), and the Director of the Plastic Aesthetic and Laser Surgery Department of Hygeia Hospital in Athens, Greece where the whole spectrum of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery is performed.

He is the author of several papers, reviews, and clinical studies in International Journals and the author of the book “State of the art in Blepharoplasty”. He is also the Life Honorary President of the European Society for Laser Aesthetic Surgery (ESLAS).

His research and experience in Laser and Plastic Surgery are appreciated worldwide and he is regularly invited to international Congresses and Universities to give lectures on techniques exclusively developed by him. Dr. Vakis is very well known in the society of plastic surgery across the world for his excellent educational skills in international seminars.

Dr. Vakis has acquired his pharmacy graduate and medical degree from the National University of Athens. He has also earned his degree as a consultant in plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgery from the Ministry of Health in Greece and a postgraduate diploma in plastic reconstructive aesthetic surgery. He has also done a few postgraduate courses in laser aesthetic surgery from Geneva, Norway, Spain, and Switzerland
